The Emerson’s Foundation has announced its support again this year for the 2016 Run Armagh event which sees people of all ages and abilities take part in a 10k race and 5k fun-run and walk.
The event, organised annually by Matt Nicholson, is a fantastic way to get people out of their homes to get physically active while enjoying the beautiful sites of Armagh city.
Emerson’s Supermarket has been a keen supporter of Run Armagh since it was formed eight years ago.
Speaking ahead of the 2016 event, Gavin Emerson, owner of Emerson’s Supermarket said: “Run Armagh is a fantastic event here in Armagh. This is the eighth in the annual race series and is suitable for people of all ages and abilities. We are delighted to support the organisers again because this is a brilliant way of encouraging people to look after their health and well being.”
The race is expected to take place this year on April 17. Once again we will be hosting the professionally chip timed 10K road race event, and also the 5K fun run/walk.
Alessie Magowan, a committee member with The Emerson’s Foundation said: “Over the past number of years we have donated to the Run Armagh goodie bags and have also donated money through our MADL Fund. This year we are planning to support the race again because it’s a fantastic way to get people active. Good luck to all of the participants in April and we look forward to being part of the 2016 story.”
